Today, I’ll make a speech about the purpose of work. I think all of us will go to find a job in next maybe 5years, that’s something we must face in the future. But I suppose everybody has a question in his mind which is why should I work, and what do I work for? There are probably massive reasons for that, however I only want to claim that one of the most being neglected reasons for why people work is to help other people. To illustrate, like the charity workers, and religious organizations etc. all work for the general interest of all human being instead of only working for themselves. Their labor is to help others because they want to make the society more stable and more harmonious by spreading the good moral convictions, thereby benefiting themselves and others.
Finally, there are also some people who work for others because they believe that the society is only safe and stable when all of its members are happy and satisfied. These people include the government officials who try to make good policies that benefit the poorer classes of society. They know that only by making policies that help poor people live richer, happier lives can they reduce the crime, sickness, and poverty rates, thereby making a more safer and happier society for all citizens.
All in all, I think all of us will find a job when we graduate. No matter what we do, we should try to do something good for the society, to help other people as much as we can. To make the world a more beautiful and better place to live in.
第一个：During my summer holiday in 2003, I found a part-time job as a cleaner in KFC. I did not realize that it was not an easy job before I didit. I had to work seven hours a day, which would last three weeks. The job was tiring and boring because I had to get up early and went to bed late. In fact, smoking is a bad habit. It can cause a lot of diseases. Meanwhile smoking is a waste of money. Besides, careless smokers may cause dangerous fires.
Smoking is harmful and it is not only bad for smokers themselves, but also bad for non-smokers.
Therefore, I hope all the smokers can give up smoking for themselves and also for the people around them.

第三个：some people take it for granted that some lucky numbers can bring them good luck. for instance, the so-called lucky number “8” is widely used now because it is sounded like “getting rich” in chinese and is believed to bring good fortune.
yet many others don't think so. they think that numbers have nothing to do with luck. they regard numbers simply as a mathematic symbols for counting. they are anything but a mystery. they laugh at those who think numbers can bring good luck.
i'm in favor of the latter opinion. i think our society is very modern now. we mustn't count on the so-called lucky numbers to fulfill our wishes. whether we can have good luck depends on ourselves. if we work hard, good luck will come to us.
