2015羊年时，女儿Carol将中文版《十二生肖的故事》翻成了英文。

在这个英文版故事中，她一人分饰所有角色，并分别为它们配了音，同时选用普罗科菲耶夫管弦乐童话《彼得与狼》中的彼得主题作为配乐，加上一些声效，惟妙惟肖，十分有趣。

在即将到来的鸡年前夕，我想将这个英文版的《十二生肖的故事》，作为一份春节礼物推荐给的孩子们：既可以了解十二生肖，又可以学习英语，一举两得。

十二生肖，顾名思义就是十二种动物的名字，每种动物代表一年，每十二年一个轮回。

要是说起十二生肖中具体动物的名字，估计很多孩子都能说出其一二来，但要把它们说全，或能说咐销凳出它们的正确排序可能就比较少了。

其实，要记住十二生肖的顺序并不难。
首先可将这十二种动物分成三组，每组四种；
然后再分别记住每组中的记忆密码就可以了。

第一组：鼠、牛、虎、兔
记忆密码：
位于两边的鼠和兔都属于体形小巧、奔跑迅疾的动物衡旅；中间位置的牛和虎则相对体形较大。

第二组：龙、蛇、马、羊
记忆密码：
为首的龙与蛇均为体形较长的动物，其中龙最长，蛇相对较短，故被称为“小龙”；后面的马和羊都属于素食动物，喜欢斗坦吃草；

第三组：猴、鸡、狗、猪
记忆密码：
以爬树为例，猴子爬树爬得最高，鸡虽然会飞，却飞不过猴子，而狗只能在树下看着它们干着急，猪就更别提了，只会懒懒地躺在树下闭目养神。

为什么十二生肖没有猫？

根据传说，猫起床晚了，因而错失了报名参选十二生肖的机会。

当然这只是传说，其实是因为猫是从国外传到中国的，而中国出现十二生肖时，还没有"猫"这个词儿，所以理所当然就没有猫了。
